  • Sleep Time.

For you, Tom. God speed reaching your dreams.

Of hippie cop-dom. And going Super Saiyin. You ridiculous, bad-ass mother fucker.

My friend and I were on the subway and Bill Murray was sitting across from us. We were nudging each other the whole trip uptown and I guess we made it quite obvious that we recognized him.

As we exited the train Murray walked up behind me, grabs me and gives me a noogie. Bill then whispered in my ear, "No one will ever believe you" and walked off.

  • Slowly, but Surely.

Wired magazine is becoming more and more interesting to me. Too abd we'll never carry it.

http://www.wired.com/commentary/alttext?page=1 - Resident geek, but a hilarious writer. His bit about camping being better for isolation from constant internet and Tivo updates than from modern society was good, and every article, no matter how little I understood, had me laughing.

  • Yesterday is Pretty Easy to Sum Up.

    Do You Like Me?
    Yes
    No
    Maybe

    What do tigers dream of
When they take a little tiger snooze?
Do they dream of mauling zebras
Or Halle Berry in her Catwoman suit?
Don't you worry your pretty striped head
We're gonna get you back to Tyson and your cozy tiger bed
And then we're gonna find our best friend Doug
And then we're gonna give him a best friend hug.
Doug doug doug doug dougie dougie doug doug.
But if he's been murdered by crystal meth tweakers
Well then we're shit out of luck.

  • I am an Idiot.

I felt the need to share this story.

Going home from work tonight, as I watched Jessie's car drive out of our parking lot, I got a boyish idea. As all boyish ideas go, it was stupid. I decided to speed back up to her and start laying on the horn. On a rain-slicked suburban road. Right by protesters. Yeah. Better still, I missed the light, and she didn't, and she was actually going to see Andrew, which required her to turn off the road early to get to campus rather than keep going towards my home. Still, I tried. I got up to 60 before she turned off and I remembered she wasn't going home. Defeated, I stopped accelerating and let the hills do the work of deceleration. Then the cop pulled out.

Luckily, it was one of the ones I knew. He didn't ticket me for going 25 over the speed limit, but he did point out exactly how stupid I was for speeding on this particular road on this particular night. He let me go. As I pulled out, I almost hit another cop that was going around us.

I am an idiot. But I am a damn lucky idiot.
